Heta left 16 and with the Belgian missing (including a bounce out) the Aussie had his chance but missed on his next visit. Van den Bergh secured the double 16 to take the first break and lead 5-3. Heta had to respond but with Van den Bergh on 104 and Heta on 182 it looked an unlikely response. Van den Bergh left 48 as Heta moved to 90. The Belgian busted on his next visit, including missing two leg darts and Heta threw double five to get the break back straight away (an amazing treble 20 with his second dart behind his first dart a highlight.) Cross powered to an early lead in the next leg and moved from 208 to 110 before Heta could set up a check out score of his own (170.) Cross opened up with a ton on throw only for Heta to beat it by forty. Heta could not make the most of the lead mid leg and Cross moved to 151 before Heta could move to 144. 119 from Cross left him needing 32 and with Heta unable to pounce (he left 87) Cross stepped up and threw double 16 with his second dart to lead 7-0. Heta had the throw after the break and started with 14 which was matched by his opponent. 139 from Heta was not bettered by his opponent (who got 93.) 96 left Heta on 126 as 174 left Cross on 94. Heta moved to 68 as Cross required the 94 for 15 straight legs. He did not get a look at a check out and Heta had one dart at double 16, which he took (much to the crowd’s pleasure.) On throw Cross started with a 100 which was matched by Heta. The Englishman then threw another maximum which was not matched by Heta (54.) Cross then had a couple of poorer legs but Heta could not make the most of it. Cross left 32 as Heta moved to 90 and with his 17th dart of the leg Cross threw double eight for the title.
